"Death Magnetic", the current album from Metallica, has been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) just six weeks after its release on September 12 by Warner Bros. Records. The CD shifted 52,000 copies in the United States for the week ending October 26, bringing its U.S. sales total to 1.21 million, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
