• Metallica Beat AC/DC and Zeppelin Among Radio Listeners

  Metallica's Enter Sandman is the number one song on Rock Radio listeners' top 500, it was revealed over the bank holiday weekend. Thousands of fans voted in Rock Radio Manchester's online poll, submitting their top ten tracks of all time, which was then built into a total top 500.
  
  But while Metallica had four entries in the top 50 – matching Led Zeppelin and Guns n'Roses - AC/DC appeared six times. The Rolling Stones and Iron Maiden had three each, with Deep Purple, Jimi Hendrix, Black Sabbath and the Who on two apiece.
  
  Classic-era bands made up the majority of the placings, with Muse the youngest band to appear in the top 100 – their Knights of Cydonia was at No.89. Pearl Jam, Green Day, Soundgarden, Pantera and Foo Fighters also made the cut. - Check out the top 10 and other results
